The Colorists Workshop is a free training and skill development program designed to support and recognize colorists. The workshop consists of online masterclasses and an in-person shadow program with top color grading professionals from India and around the world.

Who can apply?
Level
Beginner or intermediate with some prior experience in color grading.
Focus
Aspiring and/or practicing female colorists from India. (Note: This focus area is only for this year’s edition of The Colorist Workshop.)
Entry Fee
Both application and participation in the Workshop are free.
Selection Process
After reviewing all the applications, we will select approximately 10-12 participants for the Masterclasses. From the 10-12 selected, two final participants will be chosen by our jury board for the Shadow Program.
What will you learn?
Phase 1: 4 Online Masterclasses
The Creative Process: Approaching a film for its color grade and building relationships with creative collaborators (Director & DOP).
Designing sustainable color grade workflows with best industry practices.
Breaking down the color grade of the film ALL INDIA RANK with its director Varun Grover, cinematographer Archana Ghangrekar and colorist Mahak Gupta.
Grade assignments and feedback by mentors.
Phase 2: Shadow Program
Two participants will be selected from the pool of online participants for the Shadow Program.
The participants will be selected by evaluating their online grade assignment and their SOP (Statement of Purpose).
Selected participants will shadow a Colorist at Bridge PostWorks in Mumbai for 7 days.
All expenses including round-trip travel to Mumbai, accommodation, and per diem will be provided for.
Workshop Timeline
June 03 to June 17, 2024.
Participants announcement for Master Classes (Online Sessions) – July 3rd, 2024. Selected participants will get an information regarding the same via email.
Session 1 – 13th July (Saturday)
Session 2 – 20th July (Saturday)
Session 3 – 27th July (Saturday)
Session 4 – 3rd August (Saturday)
Duration: 5 hour extended session with breaks.
Two participants from the online sessions will be selected for the Shadow Program. The announcement will be made on 13 August 2024.
The Shadow Program at Bridge PostWorks, Mumbai will take place from August 22nd to August 28th, 2024.
